Homemade Crescent Sheet Dough
Say goodbye to store-bought crescent dough and hello to this simple and versatile recipe! While this dough does require an hour of resting time, the end result is well worth the wait. Ingredients:
3 1/2 cups of all-purpose flour
1/3 cup of granulated Splenda or sugar
3/4 cup of butter
1 tablespoon of instant yeast
3/4 cup of warm tap water
2 large eggs
Instructions:
In a large mixing bowl, sift together 3 1/2 cups of all-purpose flour and 1/3 cup of granulated Splenda or sugar. Mix well.
Cut in 3/4 cup of butter into the flour mixture using a fork or pastry cutter.
Add 1 tablespoon of instant yeast and 3/4 cup of warm tap water. Then, add 2 eggs. Mix thoroughly with a wooden spoon.
Knead the dough in the bowl for 5 minutes. Cover the bowl with a tea towel and allow the dough to rest for approximately 1 hour.
Divide the dough in half. Then roll each piece out separately on a lightly floured surface and cut it into desired shapes and sizes.
