Homemade Crescent Sheet Dough

Say goodbye to store-bought crescent dough and hello to this simple and versatile recipe! While this dough does require an hour of resting time, the end result is well worth the wait. Use this crescent sheet dough to create a variety of delicious treats such as crescent rolls, cinnamon rolls, apple dumplings, peach dumplings, and more.

Ingredients:

  • 3 1/2 cups of all-purpose flour

  • 1/3 cup of granulated Splenda or sugar

  • 3/4 cup of butter

  • 1 tablespoon of instant yeast

  • 3/4 cup of warm tap water

  • 2 large eggs

Instructions:

In a large mixing bowl, sift together 3 1/2 cups of all-purpose flour and 1/3 cup of granulated Splenda or sugar. Mix well.


Cut in 3/4 cup of butter into the flour mixture using a fork or pastry cutter.


Add 1 tablespoon of instant yeast and 3/4 cup of warm tap water. Then, add 2 eggs. Mix thoroughly with a wooden spoon.


Knead the dough in the bowl for 5 minutes. Cover the bowl with a tea towel and allow the dough to rest for approximately 1 hour.


Divide the dough in half. Then roll each piece out separately on a lightly floured surface and cut it into desired shapes and sizes.
