Yummy Country Peach Cobbler

Yummy Country Peach Cobbler

Enjoy the delightful flavors of this classic country peach cobbler. The perfect balance of sweet peaches and buttery crust makes this recipe a sure winner for your family and guests. Follow these simple steps to create a mouthwatering dessert that you can serve for the holidays or any other occasion.

Ingredients for the peach filling:

  • 2 cups of sliced peaches

  • 1 cup of granulated Splenda or sugar

  • 2 teaspoons of ground cinnamon or more if you prefer

Ingredients for the thin biscuit crust:

  • 1/2 cup of butter

  • 1 cup of self-rising flour

  • 1 cup of milk

Note: If you desire to add both a bottom and top biscuit crust to your dish, you can double the flour mixture. To do so, you will need the following ingredients:

  • 1 cup of butter

  • 2 cups of self-rising flour

  • 2 cups of milk

By doubling the flour mixture, you can create a more substantial and flavorful crust for your peach cobbler.

Instructions:

Melt the butter in a baking dish.

In a bowl, mix the peaches, ground cinnamon, and 1/2 cup of granulated Splenda or sugar together.

In another bowl, add the self-rising flour, remaining Splenda or sugar, and milk. Mix well.

If you choose to create the cobbler with only a top biscuit crust, begin by pouring the peach mixture over the melted butter, ensuring an even distribution. Next, add the biscuit batter evenly over the top.

If you choose to create the layered version, as depicted in the photo above, begin by adding half of the biscuit batter over the melted butter. Then, add the peach filling before finishing with the remaining biscuit batter.

Bake in a 350-degree oven for 45 minutes or until your country peach cobbler is golden brown on top.

Serve warm with a scoop of French vanilla bean ice cream or your favorite whipped topping.

Why I Don't Preheat My Oven Before Cooking"

"Why I Don't Preheat My Oven Before Cooking" In this article, I aim to shed light on my unconventional approach to cooking by explaining the reasons behind why I choose not to preheat my oven. While this may seem like a peculiar practice to some, I assure you that there are valid reasons behind it that I will explore in the following sections. Safety Considerations: Addressing concerns about food safety and doneness Ensuring proper internal temperature: Using a food thermometer One of the common concerns when it comes to skipping preheating is whether the food will cook evenly and reach a safe internal temperature. However, I have found that using a food thermometer effectively eliminates this concern. By inserting a thermometer in the thickest part of the dish, I can ensure that it reaches the recommended temperature for doneness. This method not only guarantees food safety but also prevents overcooking. Adhering to recommended cooking times for specific foods Another mi
