How to Make Your Own Yogurt at Home

Excited to learn how to make your own yogurt at home? Look no further! Making yogurt at home is a fun and rewarding process that allows you to customize your yogurt to your liking. Follow these simple steps to create delicious and creamy yogurt right in your own kitchen. Let's get started!

Ingredients:

  • 4 cups of milk

  • 2 tablespoons of plain yogurt with live active cultures

Instructions:

Step 1: Heat the Milk

Pour the milk into a saucepan and heat it over medium heat until it reaches 180Ā°F. Stir occasionally to prevent scorching.


Step 2: Cool the Milk

Remove the saucepan from the heat and let the milk cool to 110Ā°F. This will take about 45 minutes.


Step 3: Add the Yogurt

Once the milk has cooled, whisk in the plain yogurt until it is fully incorporated.


Step 4: Incubate the Yogurt

Pour the milk mixture into a clean container and cover it with a lid. Place the container in a warm spot, like an oven with the light on, for 6 to 8 hours to allow the yogurt to set.


Step 5: Chill and Enjoy

Once the yogurt has set, refrigerate it for at least 2 hours before serving. Enjoy your homemade yogurt with your favorite toppings!
