Delicious homemade corn dogs

Enjoy the delightful flavor of homemade corn dogs that are quick and easy to make.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup of self-rising flour

  • 1/2 cup of yellow cornmeal

  • 2 tablespoons of Splenda or sugar (optional for a sweeter taste)

  • 3/8 to 1/2 cup of water or milk

  • 2 tablespoons of melted butter

  • 1 large egg

  • Enough cornstarch to dredge the hot dogs in

  • 1 package of 8 hot dogs

Instructions:

In a mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of self-rising flour, 1/2 cup of yellow cornmeal, 2 tablespoons of Splenda or sugar (if desired), 3/8 to 1/2 cup of water or milk, 2 tablespoons of melted butter, and 1 large egg. Mix until all the ingredients are well incorporated.

Grease the corn dog pan to prevent it from sticking.

In a bowl or plate, add enough cornstarch to dredge the hot dogs in. This helps keep the cornbread from slipping off the weiners while they're baking.

Spoon the cornbread batter into each section of the corn dog pan. Place a hot dog in each section and cover with another spoonful of batter to ensure an even coating.

Repeat the above steps.

Bake in the oven for approximately 15 minutes, or until golden brown.

Serve and enjoy your freshly baked, homemade corn dogs!
